Chellah dates back to the Roman era when it was known as "Sala Colonia." The Romans established a thriving city here, complete with temples, bathhouses, and a bustling marketplace. Over time, the city declined and was eventually abandoned, leaving behind an intriguing collection of ruins.
After visiting the fascinating ruins of Chellah, we will take you for Lunch in a Moroccan traditional house or restaurant (not included), where you will discover another important side of the Moroccan culture which is food. You will have the chance to taste and eat a moroccan Tajine prepared meticulously even closer to the Moroccan culture by discovering our custom food in Tajines, Couscous and other special Moroccan Dishes. Once it is ready you'll have lunch and we advise you to enjoy every bite, because you wouldn't want it to end !
After lunch, we will visit the Museum of Mohamed VI of Modern and Contemporary Art. This modern museum showcases an extensive collection of Moroccan and international contemporary art. The museum's exhibits encompass various mediums, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and video installations. It offers a dynamic space for artistic exploration and serves as a cultural hub for exhibitions, workshops, and cultural events.
We will then move to the villa des Arts, situated in a beautiful colonial-era villa, Villa des Arts is a cultural center that hosts temporary art exhibitions, showcasing both Moroccan and international artists. The exhibitions encompass a diverse range of art forms, including painting, photography, sculpture, and multimedia installations. In addition to the galleries, the villa features a tranquil garden and a café, creating a pleasant atmosphere for visitors to relax and appreciate art.
Finally we will visit the Oudaya's Museum that is housed in a traditional Moroccan house within the Kasbah of the Udayas, this small museum provides an insight into the history and culture of the Udayas neighborhood. The museum displays traditional clothing, handicrafts, musical instruments, and historical artifacts, offering visitors a glimpse into the local heritage and lifestyle. After visiting the museum we'll take you away to the magnificent Kasbah of the Udayas, a fortified citadel that overlooks the picturesque Bouregreg River. No Refunds - Less than 48 hours before the trip:
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds for cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start of the trip. This includes no-shows or cancellations made on the day of the trip.
